), and i'll visit your topic!
Hey
Niek-V,
Thank you for the words! Where are you on our brazilian forum too? Lot of people commented on your topic!
ray,
Thank you man!
ZeroLWD,
Hello Zero! Thank you! About the RS logo, it's not original, I "made" it by myself. I've got it from another brazilian (idk if it's really ONLY brazilian) car, Ford Ve
rsailles. Its has the same font style.
Look!
I bought a couple (just in case..
) of Versailles' logo and got the RS!
Mr. WolfThank you!!
Laurens F1Thank you man, I'm trying to do my best to understand the language, it's really different from all the others language that "I know". But I'm enjoying it!
Well guys, I'll tell you a little of Escort trajectory in Brazil. Escort was a really good car in Brazil, it was produced between 1983 and 2003, with following order:
MK3 - 1983~1986
Versions: Basic, L, Ghia and XR3. In 1985, Ford started producting the XR3 convertible version (or cabrio, idk how you guys call it)
First versions had 1.3L engine with 4 gears. Then, 1.6 CHT with 5 gears (I believe it's called CVH in Europe), a renault-based engine.
MK4 - 1987~1992 - still 1.6 CHT
Versions: L, GL, Ghia and XR3
In 1989, Ford and Volkswagen made a joint-venture, called "Auto Latina"). After it, the top versions got equiped with 1.8L Volkswagen engine. You can notice the difference by looking at the rear. If doesn't have liter logo, it's 1.6. Example: Escort XR3 (it's 1.6L.. certainly between 1987 and 1989).
With this joint-venture, Auto Latina created some vehicles: Ford Verona (Orion), VW Apollo (really similar to MK4 Verona), VW Pointer, VW Logus
Ford Verona MK4
VW Apollo
MK5 - 1992/93~1996
Versions: L (until 94), GL, GLX (95~96), Ghia (92/93~95) and XR3 (92/93~95)
L became with 1.6 CHT engine.
GLs became with, first 1.6 CHT engine, then 1.6 Volkswagen engine, then 1.8 Volkswagen engine with injection (yeah, all of them until here was carburator).
GLX - 1.8 VW engine. First carburator, then injection
Ghia - 1.8, 1.8i, 2.0 and 2.0i VW engines
XR3 - Only 2.0i VW engine
In 1993 Orion started to produce...
Versions: GL, GLX, Ghia and really rare "S" version.
GL - 1.8 and therefore 1.8i VW engine
GLX - 1.8, 1.8i and 2.0 VW engine
Ghia - 1.8i and 2.0i engine
S - only 2.0i engine, with all of XR3 accessories
MK7 - 1997~2003 (thank God, Ford engine again)
Hatch, SW and Sedan.
Versions: GL, GLX and RS
GL - 1.8i 16v Zetec engine.. Later, 1.6 8v Zetec Rocam engine
GLX - 1.8i 16v Zetec engine
RS - 1.8i 16v Zetec engine
Some of brazilian wishes:
MK3 RS 1600i
MK4 RST
Sierra Cosworth
MK5 RS Cosworth
Orion RS Turbo
MK7 with 2.0L engine
Well, that's it!
Hugs from Brazil!
